SP_SPACEUSED

  • Exec SP_SPACEUSED 'Customer'

If you supply the Parameter for a Table Name, what is the 'Data' Column measured in?

Is it BYTES, KB or MB?

    Kindest Regards,

  • It tells you...

    USE Northwind

    EXEC sp_SpaceUsed Customers

name      rows        reserved           data               index_size         unused
    --------- ----------- ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------
    Customers 91          104 KB             24 KB              80 KB              0 KB

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
