Hi
I would welcome other peoples view on the following.
2 development teams are joining together. One was regulated by the DBAs thus where not given access to Enterprise Manager and only used Query Analyser. Whereas the other team had free for all and had enterprise manager.
We have locked down the live databases but the second development team still wish to keep Enterprise Manager. What are your views on Developers having enterprise manager rather than just query Analyser

What first comes to mind is, that in terms of security there is no real difference between EM and QA. With both tools can a lot of damage be done. If you don't have a licensing problems I guess it all comes down to personal preferences.

I see no reason to restrict the tools, plenty of reason to restrict what they can do with the tools!
