Service Pack 3a. Download sql2ksp3.exe from Microsoft and install it.

Thank You! I downloaded sql2ksp3 and applied.

When finished, I performed a query select @@version. Result: SQL2K 8.00.760 SP 3

Now onto copying production database to this server. Would you know of easiest way to do so why maintaining all user accounts?

Use DTS to transfer your logins, backup and restore your database if I understand your question correctly.
