Hi All,
I recently attempted a disaster recovery of our SQL 7 server...and it was a disaster. When I looked into it a bit further, I found that the references to the master database to itself were incorrect i.e. The master database actually lived on the D: drive, whereas the reference in sysdatabases said that it lived on C:. Could this have complicated the restore of other databases? If so how can I adjust the references in sysdatabases?
Thanks in Advance,
Terry

Why do you think that?
Go to EM --> Properties --> Startup Parameters which will tell your the real master database SQL Server is running.

Why do I think that?? Maybe because an attempted restore of a user database failed altogether and I don't have any explanation except that the master.dbo.sysdatabase tables reference to itself doesn't match what the GUI tells me and where I know the master actually lives!! I have no idea how this particular server ended up with an incorrect reference...but it has.
Cheers,
Terry
