Hi,
I received the entry below in my SQl logs 6 times, after the distribution agent failed, tried to restart itself and send an alert. It never got to retry or send an alert as SQL Server had completely froze. I couldn't connect to it at all and had to shut down.
The message in the log is:
"The Scheduler 0 appears to be hung. PSS 0x00000000, EC 0x00000000, UMS Context 0x010A0430"
I can get a hit on this for SQL Server 2000 and there is a patch to fix it, however this has happened on a SQL Server 7.0 machine.
There wasn't a lot of work going on at the time - it was 02:40am and any other jobs are scheduled on the half hour and don't take that long to run.
If anyone has any ideas on this I'd be very grateful if they would pass on the info - I am stumped!
Thanks,
Karen
