endless running job

    Hi all,

    I have a sql server, after some days, the

    scheduled daily backup and transaction log backup jobs will run endlessly. No error messageis shown. I must reboot the server every time. Does this heppened to you?

    Please help.

    Did you create the backup jobs using maintenance wizard?

    Yes, sometimes the optimizing job and integrity job will run endlessly as well.

    I experenced same issue before so I wnet to the server task manager to see whether sqlmaint.exe is running and killed from there.

    Check your maintenance history to see any errors.

    I checked the history, there is no error

    shown. Next time I will kill the job from

    task manager.
