  I'm a SQL Server novice and need to know how to pull data from a MSSQL 2000 database into a IBM OS/390 application. What software do I need? How is the connection established? Is there a definitive source to answer these questions and the many more that are sure to come up?

  You connect with the COM component ADO. You can build a COM dll an use it with the application.
