Hi Everyone,
We have a crisis going on. Recently systems made changes to the OS environment and never inform our group. We have five very extensive DTS packages that are run every morning. They were running flawlessly for about a year, now they fail on the scheduler. Mind you they run without errors when you invoke them manual, but fail everytime when you set them in the scheduler. Do I need create new jobs?
Thanks

Check if owner of the job, that runs packages has changed or privileges to this owner has changed.

What is the error message you received when the DTS package fails?

The user of the scheduling is the sa user which points to a generic user call SQLExecutive from a different domain. It was such a coincidence that once the system guy looked at the permission, the jobs all of a sudden started working. My thought is that these permissions were dropped and then added. Also I noticed that some of these DT packages only run VB apps and noticed that some have been running for about 40-50hours nonstop. I know DTS packages do not error out on a VB exe. I fixed this and have taken out all the VB only exe and installed them on the NT scheduler. I'm hoping this fixes all the problems. But once again I believe our systems guys realized they dropped permissions on this user.
Thanks everyone
