We are upgrading to Win 2003 Advanced server SQL Server 2k with 32 gig memory. Native memory 4GB -- 2Gig for OS 2Gig for Applications. Does anyone know if Procedure Cache is still limited to the 2Gig of the Application or can it go beyond 2 gig bytes. Any articles regarding this will be apprecited. Thanks

According to the PowerPoint presentation "Limits of the 32-bit Environment" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/b/4/9b45acbc-9efc-4075-ad1e-6f05474619d0/SQLServer2000andItanium2-byScalabilityExperts-Rev3.ppt&e=42), the procedure cache is limited to 4 GB, but "Practical limit is less than 3 GB".
(Watch out for URL wrapping.)
Cheers,
Mike
