Access Denied Page

  • Greetings SQL kin...

Recently I've updated my browser (Firefox) settings to delete cookies on exit. This is a company requirement for security purposes. This is causing me to have to login every time when I come back to the site unless I were to leave my browser open. This is expected however I am running into a problem where I come back to the site, login via the 'login' page and then when I attempt to view the 'Active Threads' link I get the 'Access is Denied' page. Not sure why the credentials are being lost but either way I think it would be beneficial to put the login and signup form directly on the 'Access Denied' page. This would mean one less step in getting into the forum improving the user experience (IMO).

  • Thanks, we're working to release a new site in the next few weeks that will hopefully correct some of these issues.

I wish I had a workaround for you, but I don't right now. Likely for some reason the ASP and ASP.NET sessions are getting confused.

  • Thanks Steve,

Any chance they will be including the login and registration forms on the 'Access Denied' page?

  • Not sure, I think so.

    Ben,

Actually there is if you click on login at the top of the page and all your info is stored in it including the password, when you start the first letter of your email addrees, then you add your email in the drop down it also adds your password.  Hope this helps.

  • Thanks Peddie...I was referring to the 'Access Denied' page that pops up when clicking on the 'Active Threads' link. It appears even after logging in using the 'Login' link.

  • I see what you mean that should be simple service pack fix for Redgate coders, Response.Redirect or Server.Transfer. But I am assuming you may have to wait for the next edition.
