Hi,
I was trying to find any documentation from Microsoft about configuring Outlook 2003 for sql mail, but could find nothing. Could anyone provide a link to any doco on how to install and configure Outlook 2003 with SQL Server 2000?
Thanks.

- you'd probably be better of with using xp_smtpmail (http://www.sqldev.net)
- look for Configuring Mail Profiles in BOL.

Thanks, but I was looking specifically for document about using Outlook 2003 with SQL Server 2000, like this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/263556
But this one only tells about Outlook 2000 & 2002 configurations and potential problems. Alternatively I would be looking for a doco or an article saying that Outlook 2003 is not fully supported with SQL Server 2000.

I don't have any doco to hyperlink to
We've switched to smtpmail because every once in a while the sp_sendmail got stuck and the only solution was not only stop/start sqlserver, but reboot the whole server !

Yes, but this solution also has it's limitations, like not being able to send job alerts and @query parameter not being supported.
