I'm running SQL 2000 8.00.2039 SP4 Enterprise Edition
and Window 2003 x64 Edition
I can't find an article on the correct configuration for the OS and Server. Do I need to enable AWE to address >= 4 gigs of memory. Can some point me to an article or documentation for this configuration?
thx

Also hit:

It'll cover some of the potential problems with PAE.

Hi,
PAE should not be necessary since you are running Windows x64.
If your SQL Server 2000 is still 32-bit (I haven't tested this) I think you will still need to enable awe in SQL Server to address the memory.

this might not be relevent but sp4 broke awe support and you need an additional hotfix ( after sp4 ) to use it.

Very relevant imho 🙂
You need at least build 2040.

I wasn't quite sure if x64 required this fix.
