deleting an index taking a long time

    I'm deleteing an index with EM

    it's a single column (varchar(10)) and it's non-clustered

    the column is also contained as one of serveal in the clustered index

     

    it's been nearly an hour

     

    any clues?

     

    what will happen if i kill the process?

    Try to locate the process using sysprocesses (through Query Analyzer). See if the cpu, physical_io, and/or memusage is changing. That'll let you know if it's still working or not. It could also tell you if it's waiting on a lock.
