Has anyone seen this RegSVC.EXE consuming 40% of CPU on a cluster SQL Server. Interestingly, it is not doing so on the other node of the cluster. It is competing with the SQL Server for CPU cycles which are already loaded at 100%. I am tempted to kill the process, but was worried it might have something to do with the cluster.
Any ideas???
Thanks

Hi there
Process File: regsvc or regsvc.exe
Process Name: Remote Registry Service
Description: The Remote Registry Service allows Access to the Windows Registry from Remote Computers
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: Yes
This is only possible if suitable permissions are set. If you don't need to edit registries over the network, you can disable this Service.
Cheers
Ck

Thanks for the info. Stopping that service helped. Apparently that is not even used.
