SQL 2K Server orphaned from cluster

  Up until recently I had a virtual server running a SQL instance in a cluster environment. The SQL Server group was deleted from cluster management (not using uninstall) and now has orphaned services for the SQL server instance that will not start. Is there a way of removing the instance and services or reinstall the instance so it can be removed in the correct way?
