Andy Warren reviewed a specific performance tuning book on this site. http://www.sqlservercentral.com/columnists/awarren/reviewofsqlserver2000performancetuning.asp
Brian Kelley wrote an E-Book called "Start to finish guide to SQL Server Performance Monitoring" that I would recommend http://www.shareit.com/product.html?cart=1&productid=183708&affiliateid=&languageid=1&cookies=1&backlink=http://www.netimpress.com/Default.asp?¤cies=USD

David mentioned several places.
I'd like to add this site.
But don't forget, you can try to tune your server as you like, when your schemas are poor, all the tuning is somewhat in vain.

A 'quick fix' for a database that has been running for a while since it was last tuned is to run the 'Index Tuning Wizard' tool (under tools-wizards-management in Enterprise Manager). Read up about the index tuning wizard in BOL. You have to run the profiler for a while to get the information the Index Tuning Wizard needs.
