Hi, I am trying to connect to Oracle thru SS2k. Oracle client is installed on the machine. tnsnames.ora file in \ora81\netowrk\admin directory has the entry for the oracle connectivity. I could do a tnsping from this machine, and also connect to SQL*PLUS. But, when I try to connect using enterprise manager/linked server, it freezes the system and I have to do a cold reboot. Any help greatly appreciated.

You can use either ODBC or Microsoft OLEDB provider for Oracle and specify the rest of the options. In the security TAB specify the login/Pwd for the connection. Don't forget to check the Server Options.

Actually, after the cold reboot, we were able to connect to oracle, and view thru EM.
I am not sure, why everytime when we have problems, we have to reboot the windows server. Thanks for your help.
