Uninstalling SQL Server without a ISU File

  • Is it possible to uninstall SQL without an .ISU file?

    I apologise to those who read my less than intelligible last posting:

    "Unable to uninstall passive SQL instance on cluste"

    Clearly, it pays to read what you write.... 🙂

  • Delete the '\MSSQL\binn' directory

    Delete the service entries in the

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

    MSSQLServer

    MSSQLServerADHelper

    SQLServerAgent

    Then delete the entries in the

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft

    MSSQLServer

    Microsoft SQL Server

    Restart the server and there you go...

  • Delete the '\MSSQL\binn' directory

    Then delete the entries in the

    Restart the server and there you go...
