global user options do not take effect

    Hello everyone,

    I am trying to set the nocount global configuration option. I have tried setting it in EM and I have tried using the sp_configure procedure. In EM, I set the nocount and click OK. But when I go back to Properties, nocount is unchecked again. When I run the sp_configure procedure I get the following error:

    "The configuration option 'nocount' does not exist, or it may be an advanced option."

    Any ideas how I can set this option?

    I saw the nocount option in the EM using the steps in your third post.

    I also ran sp_configure, but again the nocount does not "stick".
