This past week I started experiencing a weird problem on two SQL 2000 Servers. When trying to restore from a device, I click the browse button to find the file and Enterprise manager just hangs. After several days of having someone on site do these restores for me, he mentioned that every time I attempted this, the server was waiting for a message box about the A:\ drive to be dismissed. Then the same thing started happening on another server.
I can now remote control both servers, so my immediate problem is solved, but why is this happening? If the GUI wants to look at A, I think it should prompt ME, not bring up a prompt on the server.

I don't know the answer, but check a few days ago topics because someone gave the solution to the exact problem that yoy have.
