I am running SS2K (not sure of the SP) on a win2k server. I have a stored proc that sends e-mails. The stored proc works great. My problem is that the e-mails that are being sent aren't showing up in the 'sent items folder'. I made sure that both outlook (outlook xp) and SQL server agent have the boxes checked for saving copies in the 'sent items folder'. I've been searching the web off and on for 2 weeks to try and find a solution...no such luck.
I did find a white paper that talked about the messages being stored in the root directory of mailbox. I tried to locate Mdbvu32.exe to perform some tests, but I can't find it on any of the servers or on the web to download. If this is indeed the problem, can it be fixed? How can I make them show up in the 'sent items folder'. My client is very hot on this item and I need to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Dont know of immediate fix. Short term you might just BCC the server email so you have the copies at least.

SQL 7 used to store a copy of the sent email but SQL 2000 does not. This is by design.
From a technet article:
SQL Mail for SQL Server 2000 is written using the extended MAPI interface and does not save a copy of sent messages in the Sent Items folder. If you need a copy of the messages that SQL Mail sends from SQL Server 2000, you must cc: them to yourself and create an Outlook message rule that routes these message copies to your Sent Items folder.
