How about some method of indicating that the discussion is complete, or that the questioner has the answer they wanted?
Thanks

Maybe. Hard part is that some discussions are open ended, and in somes even though the original poster got their answer, someone else wants to add a comment.
One thing we're looking at doing is a VERY short customer sat survey following each topic, one thing we could get from that would whether or not to close the topic.
Open to any/all ideas on how to make it work.

How about the original poster replies "thanks that's what Ineeded" when he gets it? But closing of a thread prevents additional input. Even after you have your answer, someone might have a better idea. You wouldn't want to miss out on that would you?

That's a good idea. Not sure how much participation we would get, but perhaps worth implementing.
We're upgrading the forums, so it would probably be after that, but we'll look at that for Q1.

What I think is needed is a priority type thing, or a post type that can be assigned to a question. Something like "Discussion", "Request for info", "Help!!!", "Oh god i'm going to sacked I need some help".
With the question type posts something that indicates that an answer has been reached will allow us to target the questions that people need help with.
I am spending a lot of time in here and the amount of time I go into a thread that is active only to find nothing new, means I tend to get tired by the time I reach the performance stuff at the bottom.
What would be good is being able to mark threads you have an interest in. Trying to remember what a thread is about from the subject is difficult.

I like the idea of marking threads (you do have the option to get email notification on replies, not quite as good IMO).

What would also be great is a set of links on someones profile that gives the scripts, articles, case studies that they have posted.
This alos needs to be accessible for the person themselves. Their is no easy way of getting to the list of scripts I have produced. Contribution center gives the links to the editable copies.
