I am attempting to upgrade a SQL Server 7.0 installation to SQL Server 2000. When I insert my SQL 2000 CD, I do not get the choice of upgrading an existing SQL install. That option is greyed-out. All I can choose is to do a new install. Has anyone heard of this, seen this, etc., and how did you resolve this problem. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Haven't seen this, but I have seem similar flaky installs with SQL 2000.
May need to contact MS for this one. Likely some registry issue.

Seen it!!
This happened to me when I was trying to install mixed versions. Make sure you are going from Enterprise to Enterprise editions, or Standard to Standard.
