Backup: Can not backup Transaction Log

  I have a server running sql server 2000. This application/database was written and maintained by a vendor and is now all in house.

  Even in production, there are only once a day backup. I want to do full backups in the morning followed by hourly partial db and transaction log backups.

  Problem: When I go into the "backup" screen for this database the "transaction log" backup is not available. Any ideas of why?

  I do have seperate data and log files.

  The problem was database properties for backups.
