how can i tell if our db2 driver is ms or ibm or other?

  • i see this in the definition of a linked server on our wh sql server that i know is db2 based...

    @provider=N'DB2OLEDB', @provstr=N'Provider=DB2OLEDB;DBMS Platform=DB2/AS400;

    But unlike the info you can easily see by running the odbc data source administrator for installed odbc driver info, i dont see an oledb admin portal nor do i see anything in services that jumps out as a db2 driver of any kind.

    how can i determine the vendor of this provider?

  • db2ls in the command prompt doesnt give me anything.  i get an error saying its not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.  i ran it from c:\.   do not know if there are "paths" in play that would have helped the os to find this.

    i listed the providers under linked servers\providers rdp'd into the dw server.   i chose properties of the db2oledb driver hoping to see the vendor.   but all i saw was a list of boxes that can be checked there, and only the "allow inprocess" box was checked.  nothing about vendor showed in that dialogue.   clicking help doesnt apply to that provider but is more about adding linked servers.
