Just wondering what people might be using as a data modeling tool these days? Looking for a tool that might help generate documentation as well.

Honestly I find few people building ER diagrams, much less doing extensive modeling. Some customers still use ErWin, which is really the standard. I loved ER/Studio a long time ago, but both of those are pricey.
Documentation is hard. No good standard. Oracle does this better, but the MS_Description in SQL Server can be used. It's just cumbersome and I find far too few people adding metadata that can be used to doc a database.

It appears ErWin still enjoys a strong reputation among us for its robustness and comprehensive features. It's like the old guard of data modeling tools, trusted and revered. And then there's ER/Studio, remembered fondly by some as a tool that once captured our hearts with its intuitive design and powerful capabilities. Yes, they come with a price, but quality often does, doesn't it?
In light of this, I'm curious if anyone has ventured into newer or less conventional tools that promise a blend of ease and efficiency. With technology evolving at a breakneck pace, there might be hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Or perhaps, there are methodologies or practices that have made your documentation process less of a chore and more of a breeze?
