Thanks for your time in reading this....first and foremost
I have an Azure SQL cluster setup in both the East Region (Primary) and West Region(Secondary)
Everything works well NOW here is the challenge...with on prem i can easily get a notification when there is a fail-over OR fail-back and this would run seamlessly when ON PREM.
What do i need to do to make that happen with Azure SQL.... i have a PowerShell script that will shoot me emails from the servers if needed (this just says my exchange server is setup right and working accordingly). But without SQL Agent its difficult and unclear as how to make this work. NOW i have also looked at the alerts in Azure and none of the metrics are for fail-over or i am not sure what metric to use...i see CPU usage...Space Min or Max...etc etc. but nothing for fail-overs....
I know i can set up a job in Azure but then once again...what am i looking for that will trigger that the failover has taken place especially when using the heartbeat and that aspect should ALWAYS be available.
Any and all guidance would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
