SQL Server 2019 Standard Edition - Cannot Create Distributed Availability Group

  • According to Microsoft from KB5016394 - Cumulative Update 17 for SQL Server 2019, Distributed Availability Groups can be enabled on SQL Server Standard Edition.

I'm trying to set up the distributed availability group and unfortunately I always get the error message "Msg 19513,

Cannot create a distributed availability replica for availability group 'AGDIST2'. Distributed availability group cannot be built on top of basic local availability group. Please make sure you are specifying the correct local availability group name"

I don't understand why this is happening and cannot find anywhere on the web a solution for this.

It is noted that my availability groups are basic because the SQL version is 2019 standard edition. However distributed availability groups should be supported. Can someone please help?

I'm providing a screenshot of the code used for the creation of the distributed availability group, and the error. Also providing the SQL Serve version.
