Hi all
I thought that, these days, SSDs were a given in terms of performance, for everything. But then I came across this forum post:
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/582545-ssds-for-sql-server-good-or-bad-idea
See Robert Davis' response (marked as best Answer) where he brings into question the suitability of SSDs for transaction log files.
Would anyone else like to comment on this? I am about to request a new server to be ordered with dedicated disks and i'm wondering whether to go SSD or magnetic for tran logs. Data and TempDB will be SSDs.
Thanks
Neile
