tran log won't grow. i can't understand why.

  • My tran log is set to autogrow, by 256 mb, to unlimited.  I fill the log but it doesn't grow.  I can grow it manually.  Why is it not autogrowing?

    If it's relevant, it's in a 4 replica AG.

This is a test db / issue so we're talking small numbers here, MBs.

  • Can't delete but I've answered my own question.  Should have researched more before posting.

My 2 x Synchronous databases were not in sync.  Once this was resolved, growth occurred.

  • Nice work. I marked your second comment as the answer to the question. No need to delete your initial post. You answered it and shared that with others. All good.

  • Interesting that you've had the same problem with posts automatically being replicated, Grant.  You should report that on the "Site Issues" forum and then send Webmaster@SQLServerCentral.com a heads-up.  You're not the first person that I've seen in the last week have the same issue.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
