Exceptionally slow response times for any SQL reports - SQL2012

  • Dear all - I've been advised by a colleague that their system has been upgraded from Oracle 12 to Oracle 19. Any SQL reports are connected via Oracle ODBC version 19 to the back end Oracle DB.

Since the upgrade any SQL reports take a long time to run & eventually display a timeout message, have checked the queries within SSMS & the query retrieval times are also slow. Checked the SQL reporting logs & nothing obvious to suggest where the problem lies.

Would be grateful of some advice so we at least have a starting point to begin investigating this.

    Kind Regards

    Dax

  • I can't really help but can you give some more sideinformation

Any change in used Oracle drivers? 12c to 19?

Any change in Oracle executions plans ( 12c to 19)

Does SSIS or something outside SSRS experience the same?

The default oracle driver slows down gradually when fetching millions of rows. (when connecting to 11.2.0.4)
