Couldn't allocate new page for database alert even the Database has free space

    Hi,

    We have a database. We received the alert Could not allocate new page for database. There are no more pages available in filegroup. Could not allocate a new page for database TestDB because of insufficient disk space in filegroup primary.

    I am not sure why the alert is raising when there is still 30% free space in the database.

    big transaction that required more space to be allocated - when it failed it did a rollback so space is there now - but wasn't when the transaction was running (it could have been a index rebuild)
