As usual Steve covers a topic pretty well without closing the door and leaving us plenty of room to offer our own opinions.
I'd like to thank all of my fellow SSCers for their support, advice, enthusiasm, counter arguments and, mostly, for your sense of humour. 🙂

I think it would be appropriate to thank my lucky stars I have such a reasonable position in life! I have often felt I've bluffed my way thus far but I guess looking around I have accumulated a fair bit of knowledge. It made me feel old the other day to hear co-workers discussing how much they hated using command lines - I like my GUIs but you want to be able to wheel out the old command lines.
If it's more in the spirit of things I'll certainly acknowledge the huge debt I have to community and mentors for getting me here - thanks all.

I agree - and strongly too! I am just one of probably thousands who have found answers on this site. I have also learned about other topics in these forums. I appreciate the information and advice that everyone offers. Especially those I disagree with! We don't learn by reading our own opinion.
Thanks!

I couldn't have said it better. Here's to Steve, SSC, and all the people that ever asked a question or tried to answer one! And here's to the good folks at RedGate that keep this site up and running! Thank you one and all.

Well said. Steve and RedGate do a lot of work to keep SSC running. There are an awful lot of smart people in the SQL Server community that do a lot to share knowledge with others. A heartfelt thanks to all of you.

I really want to say thank you for this wonderful website and especially these forums! I've gained more than I ever could give back here. Thank you to all the fine men and women who've helped me here. This is one of my "must do" every day is check out the newsletter, what's being said and so on.
Another thing which is fantastic is the SQL Saturdays which are related to SSC. I have gained so much from them. And especially that now I work for an agency which doesn't allow anyone to go anywhere ever for training, conferences, etc. SQL Saturdays are the only way I'll get any interaction with peers outside of my co-workers.

Thanks for reminding us that it is good to pause and give thanks now and then.
