RESOURCE_SEMPAHORE wait type

    Hi All,

    From the sys.dm_os_Wait_stats i see the below

    wait_type waiting_tasks_countwait_time_msmax_wait_time_ms signal_wait_time_ms

    RESOURCE_SEMAPHORE125603 509201204637943503 104767

    RESOURCE_SEMAPHORE suggests memory pressure on server. There are around 30 sessions running on the server currently but around 24 sessions are having RESOURCE_SEMAPHORE wait types.What could be the possible reasons for this behavior?

    Your help would be highly appreciated

    RESOURCE_SEMPAHORE wait type is due to the memory pressure created by the queries. In simple your queries asking more memory from the server to execute them. you 1st need to identify those queries for a better understanding check this Link[/url]
