Urgent 2008 RTM

  • Dears,

I have a request to check one server in our enviroments and below the version :

    10.0.1600.22RTMEnterprise Edition (64-bit)

How we can upgrade this version to SQL Server 2008 R2 , should i install SQL server R2 or apply Service Packs ,

    Thanks,

  • SQL Server 2008R2 is an entire new version of SQL Server, so you need to either do an upgrade of SQL Server 2008 or you can install a new instance and move your databases.

Service packs is not going to work.

Need an answer? No, you need a question

  • Do you have a license for SQL 2008 R2? If not, buying one would have to be the first step. That said, if you're upgrading at this point in time, it should be to SQL 2012 or SQL 2014.
