Moved RS Databases but Now Cannot Connect to Catalog

  Hi experts,

  This is RS 2008 R2

  I have moved the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB databases to a new server (also 2008 R2). Created the required logins and restored both databases.

  The Configuration steps went well until the last Step - Deployment which gives error:

  "Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) has not been granted access to the catalog content."

  In browsing for a solution, some say to backup the encryption key on the old server and restore it on the new server.

  1. Is that the best option?

  2. 6 reports existed on the old server. How can I get those back, including the data sources?

  Yes, that's what you need to do

  After you restore the encryption key your old reports and datasource should be available.
