Hi all, after attending a SQL Server 2012 'first look' event last week, I was quite impressed with the additional key features that 2012 offered (especially the 'always on' feature and additional T-SQL commands).
At the moment my company runs 2008 R2 and we don't have any immediate need to upgrade to 2012 however, we may need to in the near future (6-8 mths) so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has upgraded from 2008 and come across any issues while upgrading or actually using 2012 afterwards? A little bit of a generic I know but if anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it.
Cheers, M

I upgraded my SQL from 2008 R2 to SQL 2012. We had DB Mirroring earlier and now I have configured Alwayson which is pretty cool. I would advise to run SQL Upgrade advisor to understand what dependencies you might have to take care after you upgrade. For example, if you have replication, cdc etc, then you might hv to plan carefully.
