ILM 2007 to FIM 2010 database migration

    I have a 10gb ILM 2007 database, (6gb data, 4gb log) in production. The developers are telling me when then restore the database to FIM 2010, the database grows to 10gb and the transaction log grows to 40gb.

    They are trying to understand why the transaction log grows to 40gb during the restore.

    The only reason I can see if if they did an index rebuild as part of their restore, it may grow the log that way.

    I am also imagining this isn't strickly a database restore they are doing, but more of a data migration. I still need to talk to them on the phone.

    Is there any reason during a DB restore that would cause the tLog to grow from 4gb to 40gb?

    Any thoughts in general on restoring a database from a 10gb database backup(6gb data, 4gb log) that would generate a 10gb data file and a 40gb log file?
