Hello,
We are testing our migration steps from SQL Server 2005 to 2012. I migrated ReportServer and ReportServerTemp databases to the new server. The problem we have now is that we cannot see any folders (only see data sources) from Report Manager. The account we use is a member of "Administrator" for that windows server. The account is assigned through [Report Manager, Site Settings] as "System Administrator" from Home directory, and through [Report Manager, Folder Settings] as Content Manager.
I don't see any reason that would prevent this account from seeing folders. When I tried to re-create one of the folders, I got the error reporing that the folder already exists.
Could you help me understand what is going on and how I can see the folders again?
Thanks!

Just an update:
If I used "local administrator" account to log into Report Manager, I can see the folder. Please help me understand why it is doing this?!

Did you just move the databases?
Does this admin account have access to the database engine?
Sounds like its only the BUILTIN\Administrators that have access. Try first adding your admin account to the Administrators group on the local server. If that fixes it then that's your problem. You should then be able to remove BUILTIN\Administrators from Report Manager & add this admin account or an appropriate AD group.

Thanks for your response. What I found is that the Folder setting at Home level didn't trickle down to the subfolders. I went to the subfolders and hit the button "reverse to parent's settings", then the Home Folder's settings are applied to the subfolders. I guess it was because the ReportServer and ReportServerTemp databases were migrated from another/old server. Hopefully somebody else would learn my lesson.

Ah, yeah! Doh - I didn't even think of that as a possibility. Weird.
Glad you're sorted though 🙂
