I have only made it to a live Summit twice, but I have made it a point to get my manager to obtain the recorded sessions so I can watch selected sessions. But those two live Summits and the recorded sessions have contributed greatly to my own learning and development. I don't think I can even begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work and effort and money put into this by the sponsors, committees, volunteers, speakers, and other attendees for what they have taught me.
You owe it to yourself to make it a point to attend. Yes, you can get a little glassy-eyed from "information overload" but it is so worth it.

I agree 100% with latkinson above. I know when I attended my first PASS Summit I was VERY new as a DBA and all my learning was from google and coworkers. I learned a lot from them, but there was a lot that the team didn't know and I didn't know the correct terms to search for. Windowing functions were a HUGE hit with the team when I brought that back.
There are SOOOO many smart people who present at PASS Summit and even outside of the "learning", the networking is amazing! I've met so many people there and I really enjoy attending and highly recommend anyone who is looking to learn more about databases attend PASS Summit.
The above is all just my opinion on what you should do.
As with all advice you find on a random internet forum - you shouldn't blindly follow it. Always test on a test server to see if there is negative side effects before making changes to live!
I recommend you NEVER run "random code" you found online on any system you care about UNLESS you understand and can verify the code OR you don't care if the code trashes your system.

Schedule isn't out. I know they're trying to take time zones into account. I'm not completely sure of the format/platform as I'm focused elsewhere.
