It is pretty basic, and easy. Even if you never use it, you need to evaluate whether it would be useful or not so that you can decide not to use it, which means learning the basics is a good idea. After all, what would we make of a Windows Server OS sysadmin who didn't know enough about Group Policy to decide (on a rational basis) whether he wanted to use it?

Remember that a lot of us aren't administrators but developers. We have other people to sort out that sort of thing for us 🙂
