Hi, I've eventually managed to get a copy of SQL Server 6.5 and I've made it available for download for SSC users.
You will need an FTP client (or command line!) Use 8-bit binary type (TYPE BINARY at cmd line) and a RAR extractor.
Server: http://ftp.derekcolley.co.uk
Username: sqlservercentral AT derekcolley.co.uk
Password: ssc
Filename: SQL65.RAR
I'll leave it online for the foreseeable future. There is a manual included in the download.
Install by using setup.exe in the I386 folder, documentation is in SQLBKS65. Extras scattered throughout inc. ISQL, DTS client and more.
Enjoy!

Worked just fine for me, even Windows Command Line.
I'd guess you were thrown off by a copy/paste for user, not translating his spaceATspace into the @ sign, because he (smartly) doesn't want his e-mail floating around for spambots to grab.
That said, thank you Derek, I just now grabbed a copy.

Careful... Derek isn't the copyright owner of SQLServer 6.5.

Turned out there were CRC errors, so my performance test will have to go back to SQL Server 2000 SP4a from the good ol' MSDN CD's.
(Necroposting is also truly, truly evil. My apologies.)

Hi derek. Thank you very much! Your download was providential for me!!!
I needed just to restore a DB and recover dates. But without that Setup I was in big troubles!
Thanks again

I am trying to connect to an old SQL Server 6.5 server. SSMS wouldn't help me. Could you please have me connect to your FTP site so that I can conect and download SQL Enterprise Manager to connect to the SQL 6.5 instance
