how to delete the sql agent error logs on a development database

  • How do I delete the archived sql agent error logs on a development database? I have 9 months of archive errorlogs and I don't need more than the last months.

    Thanks

  • Once the SQL Agent logs have scrolled off -- that is, been renamed as SQLAGENT.1, ~.2, etc., by SQL Server -- you can just go into Windows and delete them. SQL will only "protect" the current log file.

You can find the current path for SQL Agent files by right-clicking "SQL Server Agent" in SSMS and selecting "Properties", and looking at the "File Name".
