If anyone could help or recommend a site I would appreciate it.
I am new to Databases and also SQL . I have a database that I have created for the company I work for. I have a main contacts database with all the people in the firm . I then have other tables with the department jobs that they work in . Does anyone know of a way taht they can link from the main contact database to the department table .
I am hoping that there is a way to have some sort of front end that enables the end user to click in the main database user and you can then link off to this extra department information.
I hope I make some sort of sense. I have been asked to develope this database but I have never really done much with Access or SQL. I have been on a microsoft SQL 2008 course but it was more about maintaining than developing.
I am probably looking at the wrong things or trying to do something that can not be done but any help would be great.

That's pretty much the jobs of the developers who usually wrap those views and procs which then get sent to front ends or reports for the user.
Um, hrm. You could probably dump the data out to an access database or something like that they could play in without harming the 'real' system. But this isn't a place the end users really should be goofing around in.
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.
