I'm running the Database Engine Tuning Advisor (2008 R2) on my machine pointing to a SQL Server 2008 database. I've attached the query that is performing poorly that I used to run the Tuning Advisor's analysis. About 10 minutes into its working, I get an error: Tuning process exited unexpectedly. (DTAEngine).
Where should I start looking to fix this problem?

Another piece of info: The error happens while in the Submitting Configuration Information step; this is on the Development server. On the Test server, it gets past this step fine and runs to completion using the same query.

More info:
Doing a Bing search shows that many people had this error with SQL Server 2005 when there was SP differences.
The Test server (that it does work on) is:
