  SSRS 2008R2 installed on machine 10.20.30.40

  DNS name = 2008r2.testSSRS.com entered for 10.20.30.40

  I can access the SSRS site using

  http://2008r2.testSSRS.com/reports

  However how to configure to use only ( no /reports in it)

  http://2008r2.testSSRS.com/

  To be honest I don't think you can as the report manager url section requires the virtual directory to be populated.

  Can you not try a host header or a redirect in DNS so that if you go to server1.domain1.com it redirects to server1.domain1.com/reports
