Hi all,
am facing a sort of problem in database mail, after sending a test mail from Management-->Databasemail-->send test mail.
Later i fired a query like select * from sysmail_log. am getting the following error.
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2011-05-23T12:55:48). Exception Message: Could not connect to mail server. (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.13.172.90:25). )
Please help regarding this issue.
TIA.

Check if Port 25 is open in firewal as well as in anti virus. As port 25 is default port for database mail.

if your using something like McAfee AV then there is a block mass mail worm option which needs to be disabled before you can send mail.
if you have an ePO server which pushes out policies to McAfee then you will need to get your AV admin to create a new policy for e.g "Mail Enabled SQL Servers" and set it to disable this worm otherwise every 5 minutes the policy will reset the flag.
