Hi,
I'm getting 2 warnings while I try to install SQL Server 2005, but I'm unable to figure out what the problem is.
The warnings are:
1) IIS Feature Requirement
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is either not installed or is disabled. IIS is required by some SQL Server features. Without IIS, some SQL Server features will not be available for installation. To install all SQL Server features, install IIS from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel or enable the IIS service through the Control Panel if it is already installed, and then run SQL Server Setup again. For a list of features that depend on IIS, see Features Supported by Editions of SQL Server in Books Online.
2) ASP.Net Version Registration Requirement
Failed to find the ASP.Net Version Registration with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
I enabled IIS 7.0 and then installed ASP.Net 32-bit 1.1 and it's still not working.
I think this problem is related to the reason why I don't have any instances installed when I go through with the installation despite the warnings.
I'm kind of new to this, so forgive me for any mistakes in my explanation.
Please advise,
Jason

The easiest fix is to uninstall via add/remove programs any/all Microsoft SQL Server programs and then reboot.
Once that is done, as the first error said, enable IIS (see article below for this step)

Good luck

Hi,
I'm not seeing some of the things indicated in the webpage you indicated.
Is it a problem that I'm running Windows 7? Does SQL Server 2005 only work on Windows XP?
Please advise,
Jason

Were your original post actual Errors or just Messages?

They were just warnings.
But when I go on with the setup, I'm not able to install the Database Services.
I'm so confused... :crying:

I would uninstall all modules related to SQL Server 2005 in Add/Remove programs and take a look at the following article on installing 2005

they're just warnings and can be ignored providing you do not intend to install SSRS
