After installing the default instance of the SQL Server 2008 R2 eval edition, I tried to install
another named instance. But I am getting below error message. Could you please provide inputs
to install another named instance.
"Error writingto file:Acces is denied.
Verify that you have access to that directory"

Do you have the right privs on such a directory?

Yes, I have administrator access.
I was able to install the default SQL Server instance.
While I try to install another named instance, it is throwing this error.

What folder are you choosing? It shouldn't be the same one as the default instance.
As noted, this is a simple rights issue. Administrator doesn't necessarily have rights to every folder. They can take and assign themselves rights, but they don't have access necessarily.

Thanks Steve, it is my mistake.
I went to the right folder and now I installed 2 more named instances.
