I have two physically separate SQL instances on the same LAN with additional 10 GB NIC’s teamed together in each node.
Node 1 - SQL runs on 10.X.X.Y and on node 2 SQL runs on 10.X.X.Z.
The 10 GB NIC IP for node 1 (192.A.B.C) and the 10 GB NIC IP for node 2 (192.A.B.D).
Now – the question….
I’m having a hard time configuring SQL mirroring to use the 10GB pipe.
I’ve tried a host file on the principal and modified the binding order on the NIC, each without success…
The interesting part – when logged onto the node 1 (principal) and ping the mirrored instance I get a reply for the 10 GB IP.
If I do a tracert from the principal, I get a reply from the 10 GB IP.
If I do an nslookup from the principal, I get a reply from the SQL IP (10.X.X.Z).
How can I get the sql mirror to use the 10G pipe?
